A warren of rooms is reduced to one large open kitchen – dining- living room, a bathroom, and a small (10′ x 8′) room. Two brick chimneys exposed. Structural beams added. New pulse combustion heating system with baseboard radiation replaces old converted coal hydronic boiler system. Much of the electrical system replaced. Windows repaired. Cellulose insulation blown in walls. Large sliding glass window added at rear. Bathroom remodeled. First skylight added. Two casement windows installed in kitchen. Karen and Mark do almost all of the work on their own. Mark’s flexible hours at MIT help out a lot.
