061003_1 — One of my favorite late Spring totems is the blooming of the locust trees. This is accompanied by a very delicate fragrance in the air (in contrast to the earlier and more brazen smell of lilac). Then within three or four days the flowers pass and fall to the ground looking very much like snow. Summer is here, for sure.

061403_1 — Esther comes unhinged. Here’s what Mr. Wonderful found at Esther Hanig’s house. Esther was appropriately impressed by a new use for toothpicks. Mr. Wonderful left with the job complete and a pleased feeling.

061403 — A trip to the tobacco store in Brookline netted an entire can of my favorite pipe smoke. Seems that Brindley’s may be disappearing, so I bought a whole tin. This will last for two or three years. Myabe then I will stop smoking completely.
